Sinopse

Postmodernity is a project made by Alexandra Freitas, who was born in 1995 on Funchal (Madeira Island, Portugal). By growing next to the sea and close to nature she had this sense to search an emotion that could be enclave on a pandora box. And we could open and listen like a loop record at our home. The project is inspired by dance rituals and ambient music like William Basinski.

This project is the result of AI text, poetry, photography, cinema elements with an ambient sound that describes the cultural evolution of the contemporary world. Guiding us on this internal and critical thinking experience where awareness about society is developed by poetry. It also describes an ambience with a heavy emotional energy that can be styled as cinematic music with the ability to frame an emotion.

Artist Work

"All spirit is substance." Spirit comes to represent some of this contemplative taste or pleasure, as people remember the idea conveyed or mediated by the object. In conclusion, the link between finite and infinite, sensible and intelligible, conditioned and unconditioned cannot be perceived conceptually or verbally. But, it can be expressed in the work of art and the aesthetic experience of reality. Alexandra uses traditional materials, like a pencil, to capture the eyes of the owns she sees in life. But her artistic expression is mostly in ambient music with a looped video where art can result in therapy, being the Kantian notion of sublime can be linked to Freud's notion of sublimation.

It's like Healing art, it sublimates the unconscious, that is, it gives expression, cultural and social response to traumas, ghosts, repressed emotions and desires, repressed drives, conflicts that are proper to all human beings. This highlights the spiritual practice to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being that indirectly benefits society in their acquisition of culture in their socialization.
